Prices on the site exclude VAT. Whether VAT applies depends on where your business or residence is — not on the currency you choose to view prices in.
Clients in Cape Verde

Who issues the invoice
dkriol works with clients in Cape Verde, Portugal and other countries. The invoice is always legal and is issued in the country that is simplest for you:
- Clients in Cape Verde: invoice from DKRIOL, LDA (tax no. 294698590), a company with organised accounts, with 15% VAT, reported to e-Fatura.
- Clients in Portugal and Europe: invoice issued in Portugal by dkriol's manager, registered as a sole trader, VAT-exempt (Article 53 of the Portuguese VAT Code), through the Portal das Finanças.
- Clients in other countries: the proposal states which of the two issues the invoice. Either way, no VAT.
The service, the price and the team are the same: only the issuer of the invoice changes.
Example
A 10,000 CVE service costs a client in Cape Verde 11,500 CVE (10,000 CVE + 15% VAT) and a client outside Cape Verde 10,000 CVE.
Where do I see the final amount?
In the quote request, choose your billing country: the summary shows the VAT and the total right away. The proposal and the invoice always show the final amount.
Legal basis
- Cape Verde: VAT Code, approved by Law No. 21/VI/2003 of 14 July. Article 17 sets the rate at 15%. Article 6(7) provides that services such as consultancy, data processing, advertising and telecommunications are not taxed in Cape Verde when the client is established or domiciled abroad.
- Portugal: invoices issued in Portugal fall under the exemption scheme of Article 53 of the Portuguese VAT Code.
dkriol keeps organised accounts in Cape Verde and is under the standard VAT scheme.
